Toby has a widely varied resume; from playing guitar in cruise ship jazz bands to bass in heavy metal bands to keys in R&B wedding bands. Toby embraces Victor Wooten’s ideology of learning music as a language: first we learn some basic words, then phrases, and finally complete sentences and paragraphs, all the while improvising the way we do whilst having any basic conversation.

Toby teaches all styles of music and specialises in blues, jazz, and funk music. The instruments he tutors are contemporary/classical guitar, electric bass, ukulele, mandolin, piano, and drums, as well as general musicianship, composition, and jazz and classical harmony. He studied a Bachelor of Music at the Australian Institute of Music.
